This presentation discusses the fire design of exposed timber structures under fire conditions, with a focus on explaining when to use real and standard fire time/temperature curves. The differing char rate timber has when exposed to varying temperature, duration and ventilation are also explained. The recently revised AS/NZS 1720.4 Timber structures Fire resistance of timber elements, standard are also discussed.
