Engineered Wood Products Versus Structural Steel: It's Time for a Change!

ย

The benefits of using structural timber are well known โ€“ strength and stability, ready availability, sustainability, and low embodied carbon emissions. Designers and builders alike recognise these benefits, but on occasions, structural steel elements have been used where it was thought that timber could not. With the development of new timber products and systems, itโ€™s time for a change!ย

This webinar will describe several timber products and systems that can be used to replace structural steel in most, if not all, residential constructions. Multinail Advance, a new department within the Multinail Group of companies, has been formed to take Multinail's existing range of products and services into new markets, supplied via its network of Truss and Frame partners. These include the development of lateral bracing systems, e.g., timber portal frames and shortwall bracing systems, utilising standard glued-laminated timber (GLT) and laminated veneer lumber (LVL) members commonly accessible by truss plants.ย

Join us for this technical WS webinar with Travis Taylor and Chelsea Cheng from Multinail, who will describe these new timber innovations and their application in buildings. This webinar will provide a great understanding of these systems and will be of interest to a wide range of building professionals, including architects, designers, structural engineers, and builders.ย
