In October 2024, Melbourne architect and Passive House designer Niall O Healaithe undertook a low-carbon research tour across the Nordic countries to study some of the world’s best mass-timber buildings. Travelling through Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, he explored a range of residential, commercial, cultural and public projects showcasing innovative uses of CLT, glulam, hybrid systems and prefabricated timber construction.
